Faced with a
truth she has to bear
it's the pain
of knowing
about a love
she thought was growing
realizing all
along she was wrong
A love that he thought was sure
comes crashing
down at his feet
her animosity
just runs too deep
his efforts in
vain she can no longer care.
Their happiness lived in fairy tales
outside far
from their reality
now seeking
shelter from their fears
of a love that
never came to be.
A convenience is what this life is
civil and
cordial and nothing more
their love more
of a cerebral matter
in the end to
them that’s all this life is for.
When all alone
they both reminisce
to the
happiness of their wedding day
and how they
held each other so dear;
wondering where
their love went amiss.
